How and When to Use Verisoul Multi‑Accounting Groups
Last updated: May 10, 2025
Multi‑Accounting Groups let you keep the “same‑person” graph separate inside a single project. Instead of every account in a project being compared to every other account, only accounts that share the same group value are evaluated for links. That‑way you can prevent duplicates within a survey (or offer, contest, cohort, etc.) while allowing the same person to appear in different surveys without penalties.
Most customers never need Groups. Enable them only after talking with the Verisoul team.
1. Should I Use Groups?
Use Case | Do I need Groups? |
You have one account base that you need to detect duplicates within. | No. Keep Groups off. |
You run many simultaneous surveys/offers/groups and want multi‑accounting blocked inside each survey but allowed across surveys/offers/groups | Yes. Groups isolate the graph per group. |
You have fundamentally different products or workflows | Consider separate projects instead—simpler for most teams. |
2. How Groups Work
Account 1 device‑share Account 2 ▶ **Both Group A** → linked
Account 3 device‑share Account 4 ▶ **Both Group B** → linked
Account 2 device‑share Account 3 ▶ Group A vs Group B → **NOT** linked
Even if two accounts share the exact device, network, or browser fingerprint, they will not link unless their group values match.
For more details on how they work, see our full documentation
